The iroko grows slowly, lives for centuries and does not bend in a storm. The club took its name from the tree on the edge of the first pitch.
Iroko Horns FC started in 1994 as a Sunday side for factory workers on the Old Aba Road. Thirty-two years later the club plays in the Eastern Premier League, runs an academy for four age groups and still trains on the same ground.
The club belongs to its community. Matchday prices stay low on purpose, under-12s go free in the Family Stand, and every academy player gets a call back after a trial.
